New Walmart Supercenter Coming to the Corner of 423 and 380 in Frisco

Exciting news for Frisco residents! Walmart is expanding its presence in our city with the construction of a brand-new Supercenter at 16600 FM 423 which is at the corder of 423 and 380. This will be right across the street from the new H-E-B that just opened last month. Set to be one of the largest in Texas, this nearly 200,000-square-foot retail hub will be the fifth Walmart Supercenter in Frisco, continuing the company’s strategic growth in our rapidly developing area.

The construction of this massive store has already kicked off with an anticipated completion date of August 1, 2025. This $13.5 million project will bring yet another convenient shopping destination to our community, joining the lineup of other Supercenters in Frisco located at Preston Road, Stonebrook Parkway, and State Highway 121.

Located just over three miles from another Walmart on FM 423, this new Supercenter will anchor a bustling area already home to popular spots like Starbucks, IHOP, Torchy’s Tacos, and Academy Sports + Outdoors. This prime location will ensure that residents in the surrounding neighborhoods have easy access to everything from groceries and electronics to clothing and more.

While Walmart has not yet released specific details about the features of this new store, the company’s recent trend of remodeling and opening new stores across the country gives us a hint of what to expect. With plans to open over 100 new locations and remodel hundreds more, Walmart is focusing on enhancing the customer experience with updated vision centers, expanded pharmacies, interactive displays, and more spacious layouts.

In addition to expanding its physical footprint, Walmart is also investing in its workforce. According to USA Today, the average base pay for hourly employees has increased to over $18 per hour, with store managers earning between $117,000 and $128,000 annually. This investment in employees is a reflection of Walmart’s commitment to providing quality service and maintaining its status as a retail leader.

As the construction of this new Supercenter begins, we’ll keep you updated on any new developments. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the grand opening, and get ready to welcome another fantastic shopping destination to our Frisco community!
